Midgrade and YA Fiction workshop - now in its third year

Charing Cross Library
Nearest tube - Leicester Square - one minute's walk

Monday evenings, 17.20 - 19.20pm

10 weeks £185

Enrolment - to secure a place, fee needs to be paid by April 15th

New term begins April 29

10 sessions over 12 weeks (2 bank holidays this term!)

Each term the number of participants in this tutor-led group are capped so that writers get the opportunity to air their work every second week. To make the most of this, you need to be writing regularly, or have a completed manuscript which you are ready to workshop.

All participants have completed a relevant writing course, are well-versed in Midgrade and YA fiction and are engaged in writing their own novel for one of these age groups.

The tutor uses aspects of work under discussion to make learning points for the whole group and from time to time, where there is demand, may focus on a particular topic, e.g. structuring, character or story development, for part of a session.

If you're writing Middle Grade (8-12) or YA fiction, this is the ideal forum for incisive, focused feedback.

Projects which some recent participants have been working on include: a middle grade African adventure story, a contemporary ghost story, a dark dystopian YA novel, a Victorian middle grade mystery, a story set in ancient Sumeria and a twisted YA/teen fairytale reboot.
