In addition to teaching on the Screenwriting and Filmmaking MAs at London Film School, Neil gives visiting lectures and workshops on both writing fiction and screenwriting at a number of universities and other institutions. He also teaches writing courses at City Lit.

Package, Pilot and Pitch: Writing TV Drama
A workshop course geared towards learning the skills required for team writing and creating a pilot and outline package for your own original drama.
Open to non-MA students.



City Lit:

Writing for Children (continuation)
11 sessions, mornings 10.15 - 12.15
This class is a follow on (hence the title) from the two term writing for children course, but it's open to anyone who has already completed a course in this field and is actively writing for young people.

Writing for Children - evenings

This is the second term of a two term, practical, writing-focused course. There may be a few places for people who have completed the first term at an earlier date or have similar experience/training.

Story Development Workshop
11 sessions, mornings 10.15 - 12.15
An ongoing workshop class aimed at writers who are already working on, or about to embark on a long-term writing project. Typically a full length novel, feature screenplay or TV drama series.

Television Screenwriting: stage 2
11 sessions, afternoons 14.00 - 17.00
If you've already completed a screenwriting course and you're interested in going further and learning about working as part of a team on a continuing drama whilst developing your own original TV drama series, this is the course for you.

Thursdays, 4th May - July 13th 2017
Screenwriting Stage 1
11 sessions, evenings 19.40 - 21.40
A practical course that provides a basic grounding in the craft and terminology of screenwriting. Writing exercises, group discussion and presentations by the tutor will teach you the key skills you need to write a short screenplay and an outline for a full-length project.

Writing for Children - a taster
One day: 10.30 - 16.30
An opportunity to try out your ideas for children's fiction with a published author, get an overview of contemporary writing for young people and learn about current publishing trends .

     Getting Published
     Screenwriting for Cinema and TV
Last year, Getting Published was oversubscribed. Enrolment for these courses is not yet available, but should be once next term commences first week of May.
